Facts about the name nannerl

Maria Anna Walburga Ignatia Mozart (* 30. Juli 1751 in Salzburg; † 29. Oktober 1829).

In her circle of family and friends they called her "Nannerl".

She is the sister of the famous musician Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the daughter from Leopold Mozart.

Nannerl, together with her brother Wolfgang Amadeus, performed as a childish pianist in concerts during the numerous journeys through Europe.

Her talent for the composition was also supported by her brother Wolfgang.

Nannerl would have liked to marry Franz Armand d`Ippold, an educator of the noble knights at the princely court. But the father refused his consent. Rather, he introduced a marriage with Johann Baptist Berchtold, the 15-year-old Reichsfreiherr, at Sonnenburg (* 1736, † 1801), patron of the District Court of St. Gilgen, which took place on 23 August 1784. Afterwards, the hotel Gasthof zur Post St. Gilgen was celebrated.

Nannerl lived with her husband in St. Gilgen in the birthplace of her mother Anna Maria Walburga Pertl. Her husband brought five children from two marriages, and she bore him three children.
